Micro Pave Diamond Setting

A pave setting is called a micro pave setting when the diamonds used are ultra small typically with diamonds that are smaller in size than 01 carat.

A pavé or micro pavé setting features a line of either diamonds or gemstones set deep within the grooves of the band to create a seamless look that resembles the cobblestone pavement of a road. Because of the added shimmer a pavé setting can make a diamond look larger than it actually is allowing you to save money by choosing a smaller center stone. Micro pavé settings use incredible small diamonds with a carat weight of less than 0 01ct per stone. The technique is best described as the highly precise setting of very small diamonds using a microscope.

The pave setting may also be referred to as a bead setting and if the paved stones are especially small smaller than about 01 carats a micro pavé setting. Micro pavé or micro setting uses smaller stones than traditional pavé and is a relatively modern technique.
